Renault is breaking down its organization into units with greater operational autonomy.
The automotive group reorganizes its activities around four autonomous organizational units based on its main brands and areas of activity. These will be Renault, Dacia, Alpine and New Mobility.
The purpose of the reorganization is to enable the Group to shift its focus in the future from the pursuit of mass production to value creation and increasing profitability. According to Luca de Meo, CEO who has been in office since early July this year, the group will “rearrange the rules of its operation accordingly”.
The new CEO admittedly wants to break with the mass production-focused policy of his predecessor, Carlos Ghosn. Renault has previously announced a € 2 billion cost-saving program to reduce its staff by 15,000 this year.
Renault posted a loss of € 7.29 billion in the first half of this year, after a profit of € 970 million in the first half of last year, mainly due to its stake in Nissan.
