Subaru Outback Wilderness
With 240mm of ground clearance, a modified chassis and unique styling cues, the Outback Wilderness, an even more robust edition of the Subaru SUV, comes to the fore.
The all-new Subaru Outback has just been unveiled, and here’s the next sensation: the Outback Wilderness, which brings the already improved off-road station wagon even closer to real SUVs.
The free ground clearance has been increased by a good two inches: with the Outback Wilderness’s bottom plate raised to 241 millimeters, it just laughs at potholes, mounds, benches and lying police. The chassis has been tuned to perform better in the field while maintaining roadworthiness - of course, we’re talking bumpy dirt roads, not rocks and deep mud. The spring distances have been lengthened, the terrain angles have been improved, and the final transmission of the powertrain has also been modified, so that the car can climb on loose ground with a rise of up to 40 percent. The X-Mode's off-road modes have been reprogrammed, so the car can move forward even more skillfully in mud and snow.
The unique matte black 17-inch wheels were fitted with Yokohama Geolandar off-road tires, and the white inscription on the tires evokes a nostalgic feel. Under the boot floor, we find a full-size spare wheel - a must for a car that often deviates from the asphalt. If you’re really prepared for this, you can also buy aluminum or steel guards under the engine, transmission, fuel tank and rear differential as accessories.
The bumpers are new (partly due to the increased terrain angles), the grille is more combative, the wheel arches protect against everything - the width of the car has increased by 4 centimeters. The roof rack is particularly robust and can be loaded with 310 kilos when standing, making it an ideal base for installing a roof tent. Geyser blue paint is also unique.
In the passenger compartment you will find embroidered headrests, water-repellent upholstery, less chrome and more dark gray metal. The floor of the passenger compartment and luggage compartment, as well as the back of the rear seat backs, have been given a waterproof cover. At many points in the interior, we can find the same brass tone, which also adorns the unique type logo as well as the towing points on the bumpers.
