300,000 electric motors: another milestone for Audi Hungaria

"Over the years, our company has become the center of electric motor production in the Audi Group. The proportion of electric drives in our production volume is constantly increasing. This is proven by the fact that we recently celebrated the production of the 250,000th e-motor, and now the 300,000th electric drive made in Győr plays the main role. We are consistently on the path of e-mobility, and as the next step in this, we will further strengthen the segment of electric drives in the future and thus the competitiveness of our company", said Robert Buttenhauser, member of the board responsible for engine production at Audi Hungaria.

More than 230 employees currently work in the field of e-motor production in Győr. In the 8,000-square-meter production hall, the front and rear axle drives of the engine family are manufactured, which are transported by carbon-neutral trains from Győr to Brussels, where they are used in the Audi e-tron, Audi e-tron Sportback models, as well as the Audi e-tron S and Audi e-tron S Sportback are installed in type vehicles.

Audi Hungaria not only manufactures, but also develops electric drives, and at the same time, it is already in full swing for the production of the new e-engine generation. In the future, the drives of the purely electric vehicles of the Volkswagen Group will be manufactured in Győr, which are based on the premium electric platform jointly developed by Audi and Porsche - Premium Platform Electric (PPE). For the production of new-generation e-motors, the company's specialists will create an area of 15,000 square meters in an existing production hall, where 700 employees will work in series production in the future.
