A Chinese flying car would conquer the skies

Named the Voyager X2, the electric vehicle is the company’s fifth-generation flying car, which they say takes one step closer to a more widely available and safe flying car.

XPeng announced the pre-order of its new P5 sedan at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year. In addition to the P5 electric vehicle, they also unveiled their fourth-generation aircraft called the Voyager X1. Since then, the Voyager X1 - which is capable of taking off and landing vertically in a parking lot - has gone beyond more than 10,000 test flights. And test drives are scheduled to begin in China by the end of 2021.

To ensure that the general public is not left without news, the company has released a video of its fifth-generation development on Weibo. Based on this, the Voyager X2 is more like a passenger drone with two seats, eight propellers, four axles and various autonomous capabilities. The vehicle weighs 360 kg and has a maximum take-off weight of 560 kg.

The machine can stay in the air for up to 35 minutes at a maximum speed of 130 km / h. It can also plan its flight on its own, and thanks to its various sensors, it also monitors the ground, not to mention facilitating landing and real-time communication over a distance of 100 kilometers.

In addition, the X2 has a number of security features. These include eight independent battery packs for redundancy, a 24-hour monitoring system and a parachute as a last resort. At the same time, passengers are not yet visible in the flying structure on the shared images, writes iotzona.hu.
