A very strange traffic tax

A few weeks ago, a new object that looked like a camera appeared in the XIII. district, on Váci út, out of the city, in front of building number 175. We found out who asked who built it and where the check will be sent from. It was not easy.

If one sees a new camera, presumably for speed measurement, it makes sense to start the questioning round with the police. We did the same, but we didn't get a meaningful answer from them, just good advice from a folk tale that they can't help, but they have a tip: “We inform you that the device you mentioned in your letter is not purchased or installed by the police. . We recommend that you contact the Police Directorate of the Metropolitan Municipality with your question. ”

Well be it. The next letter had already gone to them, and we seemed to be lucky, because the camera was indeed installed by the Police Directorate of the Metropolitan Municipality: “In response to your question, we inform you that a fixed speed camera will be placed in the location you mentioned. As a first step, the metal housing of the speedometer was installed. This is followed by the construction of the wiring system required to secure the IT network, followed by the installation of the camera. This can be followed by the installation and commissioning of the camera, which will measure the speed of cars passing by there in both directions 24 hours a day. All this serves to filter out speeders, as there were several serious accidents on Váci út last year due to non-compliance with the speed limit. ”

We learned that the XIII. district was made at the request of the district and will indeed be used for speed measurement, the camera is expected to operate 24 hours a day, 24 hours a day. We have not been informed exactly when the trial operation will start or when the new traffic tax will be put into operation - which is not part of the VEDA system. On the other hand, it is about seeing only a column and an empty Congo metal box near 175 Váci út. It is not yet known what type of camera will be placed on the tripod, the installation of which, according to FÖRI, is delayed due to the epidemic. It somewhat nuances the picture that both the pole itself and the electrical wiring were built, even in full swing during the emergency.

But let’s get back to the new speedometer, which for the time being only knows like a traffic light camera cop cut out of a papundecli on the roadside, a few are scared of him and slow down. It soon became clear that Váci út was being managed in the capital, but the district's public area surveillance often helps the police if an inspection is carried out on this section of road, but the district itself has not measured speed so far and their future plans do not include traffic charging.
