The Croatian government has fixed the retail price of fuels for two weeks, with the exception of highways, announced Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic at his press conference on Monday.
The decree applies to 95-octane gasoline and diesel, premium fuels remain freely priced everywhere.
The cabinet set the price of Eurosuper 95 at HRK 13.50 (HUF 715.50) and Eurodiesel at HRK 13.08 (HUF 693.24).
The prime minister emphasized: if they do not intervene, the price of gasoline would cost 14.57 kuna and diesel 14.06 kuna from Tuesday. These prices will now apply to highways, he said, adding that the price cap affects 94 percent of Croatian gas stations.
In Croatia, the price of petroleum products was not maximized in the recent period. Instead, Zagreb fixed the merchant margin and temporarily reduced the excise duty on gasoline and diesel.
