Mechanical spoiler, ultra-hard cornering stabilizers, huge wheels and 200 horsepower: the Ford Puma ST doesn’t take its job lightly.
There is still plenty of room for sporty models in the urban RV segment. The Cupra Arona has been ringing for two years, coming in principle this year, so the 300-horsepower Audi SQ2 currently serves the needs virtually alone. However, that is changing now, because here is the Ford Puma ST, with 200 horsepower, 320 Nm of torque, 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, 6.7 seconds of acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h, top speed of 220 km / h. The engine rotates at 6000 rpm. The six-speed manual transmission comes from the Fiesta ST, with a shorter gear ratio. A special feature of the model is the mechanical partially self-locking differential, which can improve understeer when cornering. No need to worry about side-tilting, the anti-roll bars have been made 40% harder than the Fiesta ST, so the car promises a similar driving experience despite the higher body.
At the same time, the Puma ST’s exhaust has been tuned 1 dB quieter than the Fiesta ST. The government is more direct, the brakes are bigger than the base Puma. The wheels are 19-inch and feature a unique blend of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.
The seats are supplied by Recaro, the bottom of the steering wheel is flat and the shift knob is leather. Outside, aggressive aerodynamic elements, dual exhaust and ST logos help identify the top model. The driver can choose from three operating modes (eco, normal, racetrack), ESP can also be switched on in three positions (on, indulgent, off).
