The designers of the Korean premium brand, which is preparing for European expansion, didn’t vary much, the GV60’s silhouette is primarily reminiscent of the Kia EV6, but the lines are more conservative. A telltale identity is the bonnet, which on all three types locks on the wheel drums as well as the electronic door handles that fit into the plates.
The tiny window insert of the chunky C-pillar is spectacular, which hardly improves the view, but it drives the design crazy. At the rear, we get horizontally split luminaires under the discrete baffle as well as at the front. Under the well-known grille, we have a special, cocky mustache shape, the branding is more discreet than usual.
There are plenty of very large digital displays in the interior. The instrument panel and central touch screen are located under a common cover glass, and the exterior mirrors are replaced by cameras - a feature not used by Hyundai or Kia, although it is not known whether the GV60 will retain this extravagant, modern feature in series production. .
However, there is an even more astonishing detail in the passenger compartment: the reversing function of the transmission is not provided by the usual buttons or dial, but by a crystal ball that provides mood lighting when the car is stationary and rotates after starting, freeing up the shift control surface. The roundness of the crystal ball is reflected on both the instrument panel and the steering wheel-mounted interfaces. The floor console is a floating design already familiar to sister models.
