The collaboration between Aldi and E.on continues, with the energy company installing the chargers and providing the e-mobility service to the chain; according to the agreement, one or two chargers will be installed in the newly opened stores, depending on the needs.
According to a statement sent to MTI on Tuesday, Aldi and the E.on Hungária Group have been cooperating since 2018 in developing the e-car infrastructure in Hungary. There are currently 136 charging points in the car parks of 89 stores waiting for e-motorists across the country.
Zsolt Jamniczky, Deputy CEO of the E.on Hungária Group, emphasized in the announcement that the two companies will create an opportunity for more and more people to access public chargers more and more easily and quickly. They offer green electricity from renewable energy sources on the charging grid, helping customers to make electric cars even more sustainable.
Bernhard Haider, Managing Director of Aldi Hungary, stated that the company's logistics center in Biatorbágy and its stores are fully supplied with green electricity and offset their emissions by supporting climate protection projects, thus operating in a carbon-neutral manner.
Aldi Magyarország Élelmiszer Bt. Opened the first store of its network in Hungary in 2008, currently has 153 stores in Hungarian retail nationwide and employs more than 4,500 people.
