Although the patent entry describes the operation and mechanism of action of the system accurately, it is unlikely that Toyota will ever apply this technology, since it cannot compromise the integrity of its passenger systems from the security of third party technology systems, ie smartphones. However, this particular development is well suited to drawing attention to the untapped potential of customization and connectivity.
