Hungarian competitors finished in one of the first 10 places in five out of eight categories at the Motorsport Games event that ended last Sunday, i.e. the motorsport Olympics, which was hosted by the Paul Ricard racetrack in France and its surroundings.
According to the announcement of the Hungarian National Motorsport Association (MNASZ) on Wednesday, the best result from the Hungarian side was achieved by the rally couple László Martin and Dávid Berendi, they finished fifth in the Rally2 car class.
Ádám Szabó and Lilla Horn finished sixth in the go-kart slalom, Martin Bognár and Deák Tünde finished seventh in the slalom race for cars, while Balázs Juráncsik was eighth in the sprint race for go-karts. In autocross, in the cross car junior category, Kristóf Csuti finished ninth.
As for the other Hungarian participants: Zénó Kovács finished 17th in Formula 4, Péter Utasi finished 18th in drifting, and Kristóf Artzt finished 39th in e-sports, i.e. among simulators.
"We had a fantastic team, with the members of which it was a pleasure to experience every moment of the Motorsport Games. By achieving top 10 results in five categories, we significantly exceeded our results achieved at the first event in 2019. It was an uplifting feeling and pride to be Hungarian at this at the weekend in France" - quoted Oláh Gyárfás, president of MNASZ, in the announcement.
At the second Motorsport Games, 463 competitors from 72 countries compared their skills in 17 different categories. The Italians finished at the top of the medal table, ahead of the hosts France and the Belgians, who finished third. The next Motorsport Olympics will be held in Valencia in 2024.
