Honda (Acura) NSX finished on the podium for the sixth time in a row on the Pikes Peak mountain ramp. This time, the car also ran a new record among the hybrids.
After his previous peak, James Robinson set a record again, reaching the top of Pikes Peak in Colorado in 10 minutes 01.913 seconds with his serial Acura (Honda) NSX coupe. That’s more than half a second better time than the 2018 record he also holds.
The Honda (Acura) NSX ran the absolute eighth best time, finishing third in its category (Time Attack 1). The absolute winner is Clint Vahsholtz in a 2013 Ford race car of his own design and construction, with 9 minutes 35.490 seconds.
The Acura NSX’s 3.5-liter gasoline engine works in conjunction with three electric motors; the car has a maximum system output of 581 horsepower and a maximum combined torque of 645 Nm. The all-wheel drive car is equipped with a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission with a top speed of 308 km / h.
The traditional race takes place over a distance of 19.99 kilometers, with 156 bends fired, but not primarily because of this, but because of the level difference of 1440 meters between the start and the finish. The average level of increase is 7.2%.
