The Silk Road Rally started from Budapest on Sunday from the tomb of baby Gül on Rózsadom.
The field starting from the Hungarian capital will reach Turkey along the Danube, through Serbia and Bulgaria, by completing the Balkan stage - explained Nadir Serin, the main organizer of the race, at the press conference held before the start on Sunday.
In the competition organized as part of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish states, the participants cover 9,100 kilometers over three and a half weeks. In the field of 30 competitors, 15 vehicles from five countries compete.

The Magyar Autóklub provides insurance to the participants of the competition from the start to the border of Hungary, the club's call center also monitors the competitors and the competitors are available in case of any technical problems - stressed József Hatala, head of the Magyar Autóklub.
At the strategic level, we have been working for nine years to add new areas of cooperation to Turkish-Hungarian relations, one such new area is sport - emphasized Viktor Mátis, the Hungarian ambassador to Ankara, adding: this competition will further strengthen Turkish-Hungarian relations and Hungary's position in the Turkic world. its visibility.
Gülsen Karanis Eksioglu, the ambassador of Turkey to Hungary, also said that the aim of the competition is to promote the historical, cultural, natural and touristic beauty of the countries and cities along the route. This competition reflects the deep friendship with Hungary - emphasized the ambassador, highlighting: "we consider the Hungarian people as friends, relatives, brothers, and we strive to deepen the relationship between the two countries even more in this spirit".
For the Turkish leg, the competitors will start from Edirne on August 22, and after the start in Istanbul on August 23-24, they will reach Bursa, the last stop on the Silk Road, in the northwestern part of Turkey.
