Seat came up relatively late in 2016 on the SUV , which was now fast-moving , when it launched the Ateca competing for mid-range fashion . A year later, the Spaniards opened down, unveiling the compact Arona , and since the end of 2018, there is a large SUV in the Seat range.

The latter was named Tarraco by an online vote, inspired by the former Roman name of Tarragona, a small Catalan town of 130,000. Not far from here, near Tarragona, we saw the latest development of Seat.

At Seat, a new timing of form language is just beginning, and the Spaniards say that if we look at Tarraco, we can immediately get a look at what new models will come in the coming years. For example, the new Leon debut next year.

The front part is clearly dominated by the innovative grille, which, unlike the previous design school, is not five- but now hexagonal, and the almost touching corner lights reflect a new kind of daylight graphics. The side view is dominated by flat-rolled wheel arches, massive wheels up to 20 inches, and at first a subdued and then dynamically uplifting belt. At the back, we get a little bit of Audi Q8 feeling about the luminaire connecting the luminaires and the dynamically striped indexing.

The designers have done a good job, the large caste has been designed to look smaller with a size, and at the same time the design brings the dynamic feel of the Spanish brand and so much loved by many. Compared to this, a Tiguan Allspace, but even a Kodiaq, is boring, but of course, we can be sure that these VW group models will find their target audience.

How big?

The Seat Tarraco is 4.73 meters long, that is 3 centimeters longer than the large Tiguan, and occupies 4 centimeters more at Kodiaq . It's an open secret that these three models are basically built on the same platform, so it's no surprise that in all three cases we have luck with a 2.79 meter wheelbase.

And where do the competitors outside the group compare to that? Well, the BMW X3 is essentially 7 centimeters taller than the same length, and the Nissan X-Trail, the same length, is 9 centimeters more modest wheelbase. Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento are slightly longer than Tarraco, but their wheelbase is the same as the Spanish model.
