Continental came out on top in another tire test, when the SportContact 7 tire was rated by experts in the 2022 ultra-high-performance tire comparison test of Tire Reviews magazine. This recognition also marks the tire's first test victory.
Compared to the previous model, the new SportContact 7 shows better results in many respects, for example the braking distance is reduced by 8% on wet roads and 6% on dry roads. All in all, the new developments had a good effect on handling and grip in both wet and dry road conditions. The test, in which the tire won, was carried out using a Toyota Supra with ultra-high-performance tires: 255/35 R19 (front) and 275/35 R19 (rear).
"The recently released Continental SportContact 7 sets a new standard in wet road conditions, so it beat the second best tire by a huge margin in both tests. Aware of its superiority on wet roads, the new Continental SportContact 7 fully deserved the test winner position and also set a new benchmark in the ultra-high-performance tire segment," wrote Jonathan Benson, editor of Tire Reviews.
The new SportContact 7 is the latest generation of the already well-proven, popular and sporty summer tire, SportContact 6. With the new SportContact generation, Continental offers drivers a high-performance, extremely safe, handling-oriented and high-mileage tire. During development, Continental aimed to improve all performance criteria in order to combine maximum driving experience with the highest level of safety and sustainability in the ultra-high performance tire segment.
Commenting on the win, Continental Marketing Director Peter Robb said: “What an accolade for the SportContact 7! In addition to the success of its predecessor, this result also proves Continental's commitment to the production of high-performance tires that are outstanding in their category. The victory fills us with great joy, especially because it was the very first test of the new tyre.”
SportContact 7 is recommended for sports vehicles and is available in sizes 19-23 inches.
